Elton Carrier 

As a 36 year resident of Mt. Pleasant, I have a deep affection for our town and the good life it provides for so many.  I have seen the growth and the stress it brings to our highways and roads. The difficulty of extending services to an ever growing land area. Town Council is changing. Four seats are available this November for a 4 year term. I would like to claim one of them with your help. Please review my information below and you will see I am able to lead and be a vital part of your government as we try to maintain what we have built. Your vote & support by  sharing my candidacy with friends and neighbors will be appreciated.

My Qualifications

* Resident of Mt. Pleasant for 36 years 

* Citadel Graduate -Class of 1965-BA in Business Administration

* 35-Year Banking Career-Retired in April, 2009 from First Federal of Charleston


 Why I want to be on Town Council

* A desire to serve. My love for our community

* Town Council needs members with financial expertise, the ability to read & understand a budget & to exercise fiscal responsibility.

* Planned orderly growth going forward. Review of traffic & congestion concerns for all new residential & commercial projects.

* Promote & Support local small business

* Implementation of the Coleman Blvd. revitalization plan

My Service to the Community

* Member Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church: active elder, chairman of the Personnel Ministries & Nominating committees 

* Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce: former Board of Directors, former chairman of the East Cooper Area Business Council, & active in all the Total Resource campaigns.

* Also, former President of two local Sertoma Clubs, former chairman of the Rice Planters Amateur Golf Tournament.

Donations must include name, address and occupation. If the above information is excluded, the transaction will be void. Local candidates may not accept more than $5000 from political parties during an election cycle. Please note, local campaign donations are not tax deductible.
